PAM supports the collective agreement negotiations of the Finnish Industrial Union with a sympathy strike The sympathy strike applies to service sector employees who do work at the Industrial Union’s strike locations and whose work falls under collective agreements for the property services sector or the hotel, restaurant, and leisure industry. The work stoppage begins on 27 January at 00:01 and ends on 1 February 2025 at 17:59. Check the strike locations at Industrial Union’s website Join PAM Why is PAM starting a sympathy strike at the Industrial Union’s strike locations? PAM wants to support the Industrial Union in its efforts to achieve good working conditions and wage increases that improve employees’ purchasing power and strengthen their livelihoods. Employer representatives have long been coordinating their own objectives and actions. This also challenges employee representatives to strengthen their cooperation. Each SAK-affiliated union negotiates its own industry-specific agreements independently, but unions support one another within the limits of the law to achieve collective agreement solutions. SAK unions reciprocally support each other to ensure that each can achieve its goals in turn. SAK-affiliated unions want to ensure that the agreements reached in the industrial sector are of a standard that provides proper working conditions for industrial employees. Who does the sympathy strike affect? The sympathy strike applies to service sector workers at the Industrial Union’s strike locations and whose work falls under collective agreements for property services sector and collective agreements for employees and supervisors in the hotel, restaurant, and leisure industry. Work tasks included in the sympathy strike must not be performed during the strike. Check strike locations What should I do when the strike begins?
