Commerce sector negotiators meet for the first time

The first meeting in the collective agreement negotiations for the commerce sector was held today. During the meeting, Service Union United PAM informed the Finnish Commerce Federation of the termination of the current commerce sector collective agreements, which means they will expire on 31 January 2025.

The commerce sector is PAM’s largest agreement sector. In the first meeting between PAM and the Finnish Commerce Federation, the focus was on reviewing the schedule and progression of the negotiations. The negotiation process will begin in earnest in January.

PAM has previously announced its goal of a €250 pay rise for full-time work over a two-year period, distributed as follows:

  • 6 percent or at least 150 euros more in monthly salary in the first year
  • 4 percent or at least 100 euros more in monthly salary in the second yar.

The goal in euros is set for full-time work on a monthly salary. The goal for rises of hourly salaries and part-time work is in relation to that.

In addition to pay rises, PAM seeks fair and equitable working conditions that improve employees’ daily lives. These include increasing workers’ influence over their working conditions and ensuring sufficient working hours for those in involuntary part-time positions. PAM also demands that work done during burdensome hours should be compensated with the same pay for shorter working hours than currently required. untien takaaminen vastentahtoista osa-aikatyötä tekeville. PAM vaatii myös, että kuormittavana työaikana tehtävästä työstä on saatava sama palkka nykyistä lyhyemmällä työajalla.
