There is just over a week left until the current collective agreement period ends on 31 January. PAM President Annika Rönni-Sällinen states that the negotiations have progressed in a constructive spirit. As is to be expected, key issues remain unresolved, not to mention wage increases. – We are now fully focused on negotiations so we can achieve a solution that meets the needs of our members by the time the current agreement period ends, Rönni-Sällinen says. The Goal: fair working conditions for employees In the negotiations, PAM is aiming for fair wage increases, sufficient working hours, and improvements in the position of part-time employees. The wage increase demand is 6% raise or at least €150 per month in the first year and a 4% raise or at least €100 per month in the second year. For hourly wages in the commerce sector, this translates to increases of 94 cents in the first year and 63 cents in the second year. Additionally, PAM seeks to safeguard protection against dismissal and reduce workload, for instance, by reviewing working hours.
